The largest and strongest of the trains at the Big Station in the original railway stories, Gordon the Big Express Engine’s arrogance matches his size. Boasting often of his ability to pull numerous trains, Gordon often needs to be reminded of the importance of tank engines of every shape, size and color. With the introduction of Murdoch into the Thomas and Friends television series during season 7, Gordon became the second largest engine in the Shed. Gordon begrudgingly pulls freight cars, but prefers the rush of being the Express train on the Main Line.Included in Rev. W. Awdry’s original stories, The Three Railway Engines, Gordon the Tank Engine has a blue tank with red stripes similar to both Thomas and Edward, but Gordon is much larger in size, having eight wheels. Even as toy trains these three blue engines are often bumping each others’ cars on the tracks, but when they’re back in the Shed these friends all get along. Gordon is train number 4 in the shed which surely tarnishes his pride.
A classic train of Thomas and Friends, the 7 inch wooden toy train with car of Gordon can be enjoyed by train-lovers of any age. Magnetic connectors at either end allow Gordon to push and pull toy trains and cars of any size. This toy train will find the express way from Thomas Wooden Railway to your train set.
Thomas Wooden Railway toy trains are compatible with BRIO train sets.
