The rivalry between diesel engines and steam engines is as old as trains themselves. The leader of the villainous diesels is Diesel 10. According to Thomas, Diesel 10 is “10 out of 10 for devious deeds and brutal strength” and he is out to create chaos for Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends. One friend in particular Diesel 10 is after is Lady, the golden steam engine with magical powers. All the tank engines fear Diesel 10 and rightfully so.Diesel 10’s scowling face hides in the looming shadow of his giant crane claw. His dirty yellow cab is carried along by eight wheels. There isn’t a nice screw in Diesel 10’s whole body. Even as a wooden toy, Diesel 10 causes discord.
Diesel 10 premiered in the Thomas and Friends movies “The Magic Railroad” and “Calling All Engines”. He has been featured infrequently on the show since season 10. The Thomas Wooden Railway introduced the toy version of Diesel 10 with moving crane arm in 2001, set to cause dissension among toy steam and diesel engines. Your little engineer can recreate the action from the movies by adding Diesel 10 to any wooden train set.
