Diesel engines and steam engines can’t seem to get along. Two diesels in particular, ‘Arry and Bert, enjoy taunting the steam engines and keeping them from their work. Employed by Sodor Ironworks, the two brother diesel engines should be working in the scrap yards and smelter sheds but are usually found causing a ruckus among Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends. According to ‘Arry and Bert, the island doesn’t even need steam engines, just diesels.Brothers Iron ‘Arry and Iron Bert are iron-solid toy trains, painted greenish-grey. The yellow and black hazard stripes keep them out of harm’s way on construction sites, but they don’t keep them from harming others. Iron ‘Arry and Iron Bert are a dangerous duo who can’t be stopped. Iron Bert has a beard, but Iron ‘Arry does not.
‘Arry and Bert were the first two characters to appear on Thomas and Friends who did not originate in The Railway Series books. Toy diesel engines Iron ‘Arry and Iron Bert appeared on Thomas Wooden Railway in 2003. The toy wooden trains with magnetic connectors measure 6.5 inches and come as a set.
Thomas Wooden Railway toy trains are compatible with BRIO train sets.
