Moving to a new railway can be tough for a young train. When Emily joined Thomas the Tank Engine’s line she was a little nervous. Eager to get to work, Emily accidently started pulling Thomas’s coaches Annie and Clarabel. This upset Thomas, but when Emily saved tank engine Oliver and his tram Toad, Thomas knew Emily was a really useful engine. To reward Emily for being a helpful train, Sir Topham Hatt gave her her own coaches, and she never pulled Annie and Clarabel again. With dark green paint and shiny brass fittings, Emily is a beautiful steam engine atop two large driving wheels. As the first female of Thomas and his friends, she can be a bit bossy to the other trains. But it is hard to be angry when she’s speaking in her Scottish accent and pulling her weight.
Emily is the only female steam engine of the Steam Team, joining Thomas and Friends in season 7. Emily drove onto the Thomas Wooden Railway as a wooden toy train in 2004. This two piece set of Emily and her coal car make a lovely toy train. Engine and train connect with magnets.
Thomas Wooden Railway toy trains are compatible with BRIO train sets.
