James the Red Engine is the bright red engine with the glimmering gold number 5 on his coal car. His bold coloring matches his bold personality which sometimes gets him into trouble. James the Red Engine has ideas about what work is suitable for an engine of his stature, but Sir Topham Hat keeps him in line. Sir Topham Hatt knows James is an important part of his fleet, so when things get a little off track, he puts James back on the straight and narrow. When Sir Topham Hatt is not at the station, the sound of James’ confident whistle can be heard. Sized like other Thomas Wooden Railway wooden trains, the Talking Railway James toy train is compatible with the tracks of Thomas Wooden Railway and can be used without the Stop and Greet Station, but the Stop and Greet Station is needed to hear Sir Topham Hatt greet James as he passes.
